• Question: what would you be if you wasnt a scientist?

      I would have been a science journalist – involved in scientific publishing company with editing scientific articles and reports. Writing is my passion and am also qualified enough for it. So that would have been it.

      I think I would go into teaching if I was’t a scientist. I really like getting other people excited about maths and biology!

      Probably a teacher, I was signed on to a teacher training course before I decided to do my PhD. If I wasn’t doing anything specifically in science I would love to work in a library or bookstore – I love books!! And if I was in a totally different field I would have really liked to go into special effects and costume make-up! But I never trained in any of that, I just do it for fun, mostly at Halloween!!
