      Probably my very first science experiment was the one where you has to grow mustard seeds on a soaked bit of tissue in various places in your house to see what seeds need in order to sprout. I had one on a sunny window, one on a shady window, one in the warm airing cupboard, one in the fridge and one just on a shelf. I’m sure you all know what happened…

      My first self designed experiment was a test of the chemistry of different lava samples from a town in Tenerife to see if the lava had all come from the same volcano and the same source of magma (they hadn’t).
