No I did enjoy science at school, but didn’t really want to go into science. I wanted to be a teacher originally but then really enjoyed research at university, so decided to stay in science

I did not want to be a scientist until after I came to University. I guess my research projects and looking at the other senior scientists and their contribution made me more interested to become a scientist myself.

No. I have always liked science and been interested in it, but being ‘a scientist’ wasn’t really something I consciously decided to do. I really became a scientist because that was where the most exciting job opportunities were when I finished my degree; which I picked because I really liked geology and fieldtrips! Though I do think that you can be a scientist without -working- as a scientist.
